About The Erasmus Mundus EMLex Scholarship for International Students (Fully-funded)
The Erasmus Mundus EMLex Scholarship offers an exceptional international plan of study which is internationally unique and extremely attractive owing to diverse activities.
The two-year plan allows the option to spend the second semester along with all other students at one university, which rotates every year.
Summer term 2025 is set to take place at Ilia State University (Georgia). On request, it is possible to study at a third institution of the EMLex consortium in the third semester. In the 1st and 4th semester studies take place at their home colleges.
Erasmus Mundus candidates have the ability to specify their preferred selections for their home university; the selection committee distributes the applicants evenly among the partner universities.
In order to participate in the Erasmus Mundus EMLex Scholarship programme, students have to submit an application.
A total of 32 university spots are offered every intake. Additionally, students are allowed to enrol in the Erasmus Mundus EMLex master course on a self-financing basis provided their application is successful.
Students selecting this method of study will be reserved a place at the university of their first choice. Their semester abroad will be financed by Erasmus+.
Scholarship Worth
Scholarship recipients will get a scholarship worth 1400 euros/month for the whole duration of the study program (maximum 24 months), which is used to pay travel fees, visa and residency permit applications, and installation and living costs.
The grant also includes participation fees for the EMJMD-EMLex. These participation charges cover any additional expenditures that occur throughout your education.
They mainly include tuition fees, health insurance, library expenditures, administrative costs, and cultural activities.
Deadline
The application period for an EMJMD scholarship in the 2024/25 intake will be open up until and including 1 March 2024.
If you are selected for a scholarship, placed on the reserve list or registered as a self-funded student, your data may be used for purposes of assessing the Erasmus Mundus Programmes by funding organizations.
Application Process
- Fill out the application form on the computer and sign it by hand.

- Motivation letter (2 pages max., in English or German). The letter should include the following aspects: Explain the reasons why you intend to study the EMLex Master Programme, explain your aspirations and your personal contribution. In addition, you should describe what you aim to accomplish with the EMLex master degree.
- Report on your experiences with scientific or practical lexicography that you have previously made and why you have an interest in lexicography.
- Explain your choice of the desired home university (although your preferences* will be taken into account as much as practicable, the ultimate selection will be made so as to best match your study demands).
- Answer the following question: Which lexicographic project would you prefer to implement in your own country if you had the possibility to do so?
- Certificate of HEI degree(s)
- Transcript of academic records
- Language certifications
- Copy of your identity document

1. Applicants must be from partner nations such as non-EU countries excluding Turkey, Macedonia, Serbia, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland.
2. Applicants must be from program nations such as the 28 EU member states plus Turkey, Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Liechtenstein, and Iceland.
3. Applicants must be from countries not connected with the program such as: IPA nations are Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro
4. NDCI nations are countries from Asia and the Pacific, America and the Caribbean, EU neighboring areas (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia), and countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
